History
Before Changmin was even born his parents were already well-known in the wizarding society. His father being a member of the Wizengamot and his mother was one of the helpful and friendly ladies of one of the bookshops in Wizarding Itaewon. Changmin was the perfect addition to their family and made it complete.
From a young age Changmin was pushed to be the best he could be. This wasn't limited to his pre-school education, but also on a social level. Mainly his father didn't want to have a less-than-perfect child. Changmin had to be a perfect example for the other wizarding children, just so his father wouldn't lose face. Changmin's mother was a little less strict and gave him a little more freedom. She let him choose his own books to read and he often chose fiction, as a getaway from the pressure his father put on him.
Reading fiction quickly became a way for him to escape, even from everyday life. While the other kids played outside or with their toys, Changmin preferred to stay in with a book. He didn't particularly hated to play, he just liked being in his own little word. It wasn't as if he didn't play at all, because sometimes he would and re-enact his favourite scenes from the books he read, but most of his friends had no idea what he was talking about so he turned to books more often and turned into somewhat of a loner.
As he got older, the things his father taught him and made him read became more interesting and his hunger for knowledge grew. He only wanted to know more. His fictional books were replaced by study material and by the time he started his first year at SM Academy, he already finished reading most of his study books.
After getting sorted into Ravenclaw he experienced some difficulty in successfully using his knowledge in class. His wandwork wasn't that good and he didn't speak up in class, feeling too self-conscious around so much other students, even though he usually knew the answer as to what the professor was asking. What didn't help at all was that he got a howler from his father every so often because he wasn't giving it his best. So even away from home he was still under pressure of his father.
His first year ended with average grades and as a result he got grounded during break and had to spend his time around his parents and getting tutored by a son of his father's ministry colleagues. Who was insufferable enough for Changmin to step it up in his second year.
The howlers still came in his second year but became significantly less as his grades improved. There were still classes he experienced difficulties in, such as herbology because of a crippling fear for plants that could strangle him or otherwise hurt him. He also still was a loner and didn't speak up unless spoken to. He had very few friends and he even was on the receiving end of the jokes of upperclassmen.
During the first four years of being at the academy he was heavily under the influence of his father and was set on working hard to make him proud. In his fifth and especially his sixth year he was pulled out of his comfort zone more often, mainly because of new friendships, and he developed his own will. His take on academic achievement changed and started to work on achieving his own goals, instead of the ones his father set out for him. While in theory they didn't differ much, it felt different anyway. Even his wand felt different and seemed to be more cooperative with him.
He feels more comfortable with himself now that he's in his seventh year, even though he's still not fond of plants.
Personality
Changmin prefers to pull back in his own world with a book or simply studying. He doesn't mind being around others when he does so, they just don't have to expect he'll join in unless they do or talk about something that interests him. If it doesn't, then he's unlikely to butt in. Even when he's retreated in his own world he often catches bits and pieces of the conversations around him anyway and if he feels it's necessary a sarcastic or witty remark will be muttered under his breath. He says it's not eavesdropping, but that sheer stupidity is hard to filter out.
Changmin isn't particularly unfriendly and is actually capable of holding decent conversations, as long as the topic is to his liking. He cannot stand small talk or mindless babble but when sharing interests or opinions he can be a pleasant conversational partner. In fact, exchanging opinions is one of his favourite things to do, especially when his own opinion doesn't match the other's. In that aspect he can be surprisingly open minded.
Overal he is a bit uptight and he won't be seen doing things that are out of his comfort-zonee. He even has a hard time thinking out of the box. He doesn't see the fun in a lot of things are there are just few people that are able to get him to do things they might consider fun. He has a open dislike for the kind of students who fool around in class or play pranks. When he's a victim of a prank himself he can explode in anger and he will get back at you.

Ebony
This jet-black wand wood has an impressive appearance and reputation, being highly suited to all manner of combative magic, and to Transfiguration. Ebony is happiest in the hand of those with the courage to be themselves. Frequently non-conformist, highly individual or comfortable with the status of outsider, ebony wand owners have been found both among the ranks of the Order of the Phoenix and among the Death Eaters. In my experience the ebony wand’s perfect match is one who will hold fast to his or her beliefs, no matter what the external pressure, and will not be swayed lightly from their purpose.
Unicorn Tail Hair
Unicorn hair generally produces the most consistent magic, and is least subject to fluctuations and blockages. Wands with unicorn cores are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts. They are the most faithful of all wands, and usually remain strongly attached to their first owner, irrespective of whether he or she was an accomplished witch or wizard. Minor disadvantages of unicorn hair are that they do not make the most powerful wands (although the wand wood may compensate) and that they are prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled, meaning that the hair may 'die' and need replacing.
